St. Cyprian of Antioch Amulet
The Patron Saint of Magicians needs no introduction, but his amulet does.
These were not on my list of things to do this Fall, but sometimes the spirits have their own plans. It was only moments after being incepted with the idea of making an amulet to St. Cyprian that I realized I already had 95% of the materia that I wanted to include on-hand. This was fortuitous since it was a measly few days before the beginning of his feast and these amulets would not have happened without his guidance and inspiration.
This amulet is meant for those who work with and love St. Cyprian of Antioch. This is a way to carry his presence with you strongly wherever you go. He uses the arsenal provided to him through the amulet to assist you in whatever magic your practice calls for while also providing help in meditation and prayer, increased magical senses and increased focus, strong protection, good fortune, and general attraction which can be “aimed” at more specified goals. When it arrives it's a good idea to conduct a simple ceremony and ask your St. Cyprian to merge with and inhabit the amulet, and thereafter treat it with the same care and respect as you would treat your St. Cyprian statue or icon, setting them together to receive offerings.
The integration of the three main attributes of protection/good fortune/attraction was inspired by Khun Paen amulets from Thailand, which work in a similar way. There is a deep, rooty strength in these pieces, a calm of authority, and a passionate burning heart of true desire. Experiences with mine have been profound, empowering, and exciting to explore. I’ve never been more proud of, or happy to wear, my own work.
The collected materia was divided into groups and blessed with different spells and prayers each day throughout the novena, thoroughly enchanted by both myself and the Sorcerer Saint in the thick of his most potent days of the year.
The materia includes soils from seven cemeteries and seven holy places, dirt from a crossroad, master root, acacia, rue, oak, wormwood, high John root, licorice root, galangal, devil’s shoestring, devil’s claw, lightning-struck wood, powdered shingle from a church roof (collected after renovation), blessed communion host, ashes left over from fire ceremonies, crushed rose quartz, carnelian, selenite, and black tourmaline. The back of each is fully loaded with chunks of high john, devil’s shoestring, master root, a fine cut amethyst cabachon, a piece of a ritually broken mirror for reflecting back anything malefic, blessed black rice from a magic school in Thailand for added protection, a spell scroll with a sigil of St. Cyprian and a sigil to imbue the amulet with all four elements and keep them flowing on one side, and a classic protection spell on the other, and one of Rev’s old and worn prayer beads to boost the power of the whole amulet. Three of these have an added Jindamanee ball in the back by LP Phrom of Wat Khao Or (the same school from which the blessed rice came) for extra good fortune and will go to the first three customers who order one. (First three are now sold)
These come with a cantrip which can be used like a St. Cyprian mantra which also helps to balance the elements both in the body and the amulet. Each comes in a stainless steel case to be hung on a necklace. Necklace is not included.
